Training is divided into 3 main sections:
Adolescence - I
Alumnae - II
Intermediate - III
Training in the Earth element focuses around herbal knowledge, properly identifying and maintaining herbs, healing, poisoning, and often acting of assistance in certain scenarios.
- A D O L E S C E N C E -
This section is a taste, if you like, of what is expected in this element. It it significantly shorter than other sections.
What can be covered:
I. Herbal Knowledge - Basic
The very roots to the Earth element is solid knowledge of the healing properties she bears. Learn to identify them and know their use.
II. Poison Knowledge - Basic
The more destructive side to nature's flora. Learn to identify them and know their use.
III. Diagnosis - Basic
Diagnosing an ailment is of dire importance, so sitting in on such processes in observation is recommended.
IV. Diseases
There are many devastating diseases that plague the lands, but what are they exactly? Good knowledge on different diseases is key to successful treatment.
- A L U M N A E -
Once you have joined the rankings, you will be involved in longer, more difficult training sessions.
What can be covered:
I. Herbal Knowledge - Continued
II. Poison Knowledge - Continued
Studies will be continued in these fields.
III. Bandaging and Appliance of Treatments
What is the point of knowing all these herbs, if you don't even know how to use them? Learn the proper way to apply bandages and pastes.
IV. Anatomy
Knowledge of the anatomy of different species is key to successful diagnosis. Learn to identify varying organs and bones of the body through dissection.
V. Live-Action
If it deemed appropriate, practices in scenarios such as Birthing-assistance and Executioning-assistance may be adhered.
- I N T E R M E D I A T E -
You have worked your way through the ranks, and are now prepared to train in your specific field.
HERBALIST
What can be covered:
I. Herbal Knowledge - Continued
Studies will be continued in this field
II. Treatment
The day-to-day treatments of wounds, great and small, all count towards your training. Practice makes perfect.
III. Strong Mind
Some interpret the Herbalist as a rather peaceful rank, however this is quite wrong. Herbalists cannot always save their patients, and such difficult situations may impact on mental health. Herbalists must be trained to have a strong mindset in their struggles.
IV. Birth
The natural process of delivering new life is unpredictable and tedious, and Herbalists must ensure that newborns are safely delivered into the world.
TOXICOLOGIST
What can be covered:
I. Poison Knowledge - Continued
Studies will be continued in this field
II. Physical Training
Toxicologists are sometimes faced with unwilling patients, so they must pack some decent strength behind them in tedious situations.
III. Strong Mind
Ending the life of another is not always an easy task. Toxicologists may face their own battles, but they must learn to keep their mental health stable, just as a Herbalist would.
IV. Delivering Executions
One of the Toxicologist's main duties is to end the life of those who are deemed unable to continue, or deserve their end. Poisons are used either to end a decaying elder's life painlessly and with respect, or to send off a criminal with the same pain they inflicted.
